Attitude in Account Services
She’s a spit-fire from Georgia, and one of our great account executives. O’Keyla Smith isn’t usually the center of attention at MDB Communications; in fact, she comes across as very mellow and collected. This makes her a great account executive, who can keep an eye on all the details while making sure that everyone stays calm and focused. Her face is extremely expressive – her eyes go wide and her whole face smiles when she talks about the fun things she did last weekend or the town she grew up in.
Anyone who knows O’Keyla knows she may seem laid back, but she’s also very particular. She’s a picky eater, and she usually knows exactly what she wants to eat. If you want to know what the best cupcake joints are, she’ll tell you her opinion on each one. And she’s always right on with her assessment since cookies, cakes and pies are her favorite foods - but not necessarily in that order.
O’Keyla laughs at everything, especially art director Laura’s dancing. She says that she laughs every time she even thinks about one of her favorite ads, the State Farm “Cheating” spot. “I can see myself reacting the same way if my husband was on the phone at night. I’d be turning on all the lights and looking around. ‘She sounds hideous!’” As she’s saying the punch-line O’Keyla can barely contain her giggles.
She also loves color, but none more than pink. You can usually see her latest splash of color on her fingers because she paints her nails at least once a week and often more. It’s that kind of attention to detail that shows in every part of her work. She’s able to handle several client accounts and manage the MDB interns, all in sparkly sandals and bright colored cardigans.
O’Keyla is an awesome person to have in the office. She works hard, but she’s never too busy to let loose and have a good conversation with anyone. We’re lucky to have her at MDB.
