In an Industry that’s Down, MDB Moves Up
Moves to Larger Space in DC Arts.
Washington ( January 12, 2009) - MDB Communications, the oldest independently-owned, DC-based advertising agency, announced that it has moved its headquarters to the 8th floor of 1730 M Street, NW. The move to larger digs comes amid several account wins and double digit growth in online and emerging media over the last two years, and is designed to better accommodate MDB’s growth.
According to Cary Hatch, MDB’s president and CEO, while the most recent industry reports cautiously call for a modest 2010 recovery, they also underscore that 2009 saw the sharpest percentage decline in ad spending since the Great Depression.
When she considered new office locations, the decision to stay in D.C. was an easy one. “For us, the only real option was to stay in the District. It’s the most convenient location for our clients who are headquartered in D.C. including Fannie Mae, BOMA International, the DC Lottery and National Geographic.” Hatch attributes the relocation to current client’s requirements as well as a steady progression of new business.
