The Lottery in Washington, DC, has a solution: Give yourself a "Lottery Intervention."
Washington, DC (March 16) Everyone is familiar with the term "intervention." In an interesting creative leap, the DC Lottery in Washington, DC, has a new twist on the term; one that will infuse fun. If people are having a bad day, they want them to give themselves a "lottery intervention" to help make their day brighter.
The new, multimedia campaign which breaks today (click here), identifies with the plight of ordinary people and the things that happen to them on a regular basis. A young professional woman late for work steps in a pile of dog stuff. Another woman on the subway is stuck between an armpit and a guy with obscenely bad breath. A man is stuck on hold with a telephone provider, only to realize his time has been in vain.
"All the people in our campaign start out having a good day and end up having a bad one because of something uncontrollable that changes the tone of their day. Stupid little things happen to all of us. There's really nothing we can do about it," says Richard Coad, Chief Creative Officer of MDB Communications, agency of record for the DC Lottery. "It's all about frustration. For everyone who's having a bad day, the DC Lottery can "intervene" and provide a little bit of fun. Everyone needs a lift. The lottery can give people a lift."
This is a major campaign for the new and improved DC Lottery representing not only the most advanced gaming system in the country, but exciting new lottery products. Over 120 million impressions will be made over a 6 month period.
"We really think the idea of a lottery intervention is going to resonate with people," says Buddy Roogow, Executive Director of the DC Lottery. " The DC Lottery is all about fun and entertainment. If we can help make someone's day a little better with a lottery intervention, that makes me happy."
