FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE >> MDB’s President/CEO Returns as Chairman of Advertising Week DC 2008 Washington ( August 27, 2008 ) - The Ad Club of Metropolitan Washington announced today that Cary Hatch, President/CEO of Washington-based MDB Communications, will chair Advertising Week DC 2008. Michael Jack, President and General Manager of NBC Universal/WRC-TV, is serving as Vice-Chair. Hatch was influential in bringing Advertising Week to DC in 2004, making DC the only region outside of New York to host such a week. The event showcases metropolitan Washington’s advertising community as a booming industry, growing by 9% annually. Per capita, the Greater Washington area has the most advertising and marketing professionals in the country—higher even than San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago. Now in its 5th year, Advertising Week DC is the region’s largest and most diverse gathering of advertising, marketing, public relations and media leaders. The week celebrates the best of the marketing, media and advertising community with networking, professional development and education. Advertising Week DC 2008 will be held September 15-19 at National Geographic, USA TODAY, The Washington Post and The Mayflower Renaissance Hotel. The week is a mix of fee-based, VIP, and invitation-only events celebrating the Washington, DC communications industry. ADWKDC08 will present headliners including Steve Forbes, Jim Donald, Chris Matthews and Chuck Todd. Global brands like Google, Facebook, Starbucks and National Geographic will all be represented.
